Computational Infrastructures

The University of Fribourg is a member of the bioinformatics competence center vital-It that supports and collaborates with life scientists in Switzerland and beyond. The high productivity computational and storage resources maintained by vital-It are thus our ressoruces of choice. If you are a member of teh university of Fribourg you can request access to cital-It by filling in the contact form here.

To complement the vital-It ressoruces, the bioinformatics groups from the universities of Fribourg and Bern maintain a dedicated computational facility in Bern. It currentls consist of

  • 2 machines with 80 cores and 1Tb RAM each
  • 8 machines with 16 cores and 256 Gb RAM each
  • 100 Tb of storag

Members of the university of Fribourg shoudl contact Prof Dr Daniel Wegmann to ask for acess to this ressoruce.
